1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Starpaste ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Starpaste is a secure collaboration platform that provides end-to-end encrypted text sharing, note-taking, and team collaboration tools. The Service is currently in pre-release phases (closed alpha/open beta).

3. User Accounts

3.1 Waitlist Registration

To join our waitlist, you must provide a valid email address. You may optionally provide your name for personalization purposes.

3.2 Account Security

When the Service becomes available, you will be responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe upon the rights of others
• Transmit harmful, offensive, or illegal content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Use the Service for commercial purposes without authorization

5. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which also governs your use of the Service, to understand our practices.

5.1 End-to-End Encryption

When available, the Service will use end-to-end encryption to protect your content. This means that even we cannot access your encrypted data.

5.2 Waitlist Data

During the waitlist phase, your email address and name (if provided) are stored unencrypted to enable communication and service access.

6. Pre-Release Terms

6.1 Beta Testing

The Service is currently in pre-release phases. You understand that:

• The Service may contain bugs or incomplete features
• Your data may be lost or corrupted during development
• Features may change or be removed without notice
• Service availability is not guaranteed

6.2 Feedback

We welcome your feedback during pre-release phases. Any feedback you provide may be used to improve the Service without compensation to you.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Service Content

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by mcjk and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

7.2 User Content

You retain ownership of content you create using the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit your content solely to provide the Service.

8. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, mcjk shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the Service, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Poland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
